I’m sure the lady that cleans my office is a lovely person. However, lately it seems like she’s out to get me. Well not really. I just wish she would STOP THROWING AWAY MY WATER BOTTLE. I bring in a water bottle which I leave on my desk and refill with sink water since I drink a LOT of water every day. I use the bottle over and over. The first time she threw it away I figured hell it was an empty bottle on my desk, her job is to clean my office (but really, couldn’t she LEAVE MY DESK ALONE?), and she was doing her job. So I taped a post-it to my next water bottle asking her to please not throw it away (she comes way after I leave, so there’s no personal interaction here). For the past 3 weeks I’ve been happy to keep my water bottle. But today? IT’S GONE. Despite the post-it, my water bottle has been thrown away again. Which, ok maybe she was distracted and didn’t realize she threw it away until it was too late. Understandable. Except. SHE LEFT THE BOTTLE CAP. On my desk. The desk she’s supposedly cleaning (WHY? ugh.). I’m starting to think it’s personal.
Are you sure it isn’t a coworker playing a joke on you? That just sounds way too weird to be an accident. Maybe she gets high at work?
It’s usually a cleaning person rule not to touch or throw away anything that is actually ON the desk. At least that’s the way it’s been everywhere I worked. My only problem is not having my trash can emptied unless I put it out in the middle of the office.
